Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SaveApp ("the App") collects, why, and how it's used. SaveApp is developed and operated by TechKnowAge, and is used by members and administrators of savings groups to track monthly savings declarations, deposits, loans, and fines.

1. Who this applies to

Anyone who creates an account or is added as a member of a savings group administered through SaveApp, and any administrator who manages a group through the SaveApp admin panel.

2. Information we collect

Provided directly (at registration, by you or your group's administrator):

• Full name, gender
• Phone number, email address
• A group-issued unique member code

Generated by using the app:

• Savings declarations (amounts, dates, which period they're for)
• Loan requests, approvals, repayments, and balances
• Fines and their categories
• Deposit records matched against bank statement data your group's administrator uploads (transaction date, amount, and reference text — not full bank account numbers or other account holders' information)
• Notifications sent to you (fines applied, loan decisions, declaration reminders)
• A device push-notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), if you enable notifications
• Login sessions and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)

We do not collect: precise location, contacts, photos/media, browsing history, or any data unrelated to group savings management. SaveApp contains no advertising and does not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

3. How we use this information

• To operate the core features of the app: recording declarations, matching deposits, tracking loans and fines, and showing you your own financial history within the group.
• To send you notifications about your account (a fine was applied, a loan was approved/rejected, a deposit was matched) via push notification and/or email.
• To let your group's administrator manage the group — administrators can see all members' declarations, deposits, loans, and fines within groups they administer, since that's the purpose of the app.

4. Who we share information with

• Your group's administrator(s) — see §3.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — used solely to deliver push notifications to your device. Google's own privacy policy governs their handling of the device token: policies.google.com/privacy
• No one else. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or other third parties.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active within a group, and for a reasonable period afterward for the group's financial record-keeping (e.g. historical share-out calculations). Contact your group's administrator or [email protected] to request deletion, subject to the group's legitimate need to keep financial records.

6. Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text. Communication between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the admin panel requires authentication, and admin actions are logged.

7. Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request account deletion by contacting [email protected] or your group's administrator directly.

8. Children

SaveApp is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Material changes will be communicated to members via in-app notification.
